💎 How to Find and Crack Geodes
Geodes are special items in Roblox Abyss that drop Artifacts — powerful equipment providing passive stat boosts. This guide covers how to find Geodes, how to crack them open, and where to get each type.
How to Find Geodes
Geodes are obtained through a mini-game while fishing. Here's how it works:
- While fishing, a treasure chest icon may randomly appear on the right side of the fishing mini-game bar
- You need to hover over the treasure chest icon long enough to fill its internal progress bar
- Once the treasure chest bar shows a checkmark, complete the main fishing mini-game to receive both the fish and the Geode
Important Tips
- Don't catch the fish too fast! If you complete the main progress bar before filling the treasure chest bar, you'll lose the Geode
- Fill your main bar to about 75%, then shift focus to the treasure chest bar until it's complete, then finish the main bar
- Geodes appear roughly 1 in every 5 fishing attempts on average
How to Crack Geodes
Once you've collected Geodes, you need to crack them open to receive Artifacts:
- Find Virelia — the purple-haired NPC near the Tubes Shop in the Forgotten Deep (starting island). Look for the white octopus legs and circular table with purple aura.
- Interact with Virelia and select "Open Artifacts"
- Choose the Geodes from your inventory and pay the required fee
- Wait for the cracking timer to complete — or spend Star Shards to speed it up
All Geode Types
Different Geodes drop from different biomes. Each type contains a unique set of Artifacts:

Artifact Drops
Each Geode type has its own artifact pool with different drop rates. You can check the exact drop percentages by viewing the left side of Virelia's menu before cracking. Higher-tier Geodes generally drop rarer and more powerful Artifacts.
Always equip your best Artifacts — even Common ones provide helpful stat boosts like increased oxygen, fishing speed, or luck. Check the full Artifacts database to see all available Artifacts and their effects.
Tips for Efficient Geode Farming
- Fish in deeper biomes for higher-tier Geodes with better Artifact pools
- Don't rush the fishing mini-game — take your time to capture the Geode icon
- Batch your Geode openings — collect several before visiting Virelia to save trips
- Use Star Shards to skip timers if you have plenty of Star Shards
- Upgrade your Tube to stay underwater longer and catch more Geodes per dive
